Ta Phong Tan, is a Vietnamese dissident blogger and former policewoman. She was arrested in September 2011 on anti-state propaganda charges for her blog posts alleging government corruption. On October 4, 2012, Ta Phong Tan was sentenced to ten years in prison after a one-day hearing. Her sentence was upheld by an appeals court on December 28, 2012. In 2013, Ta Phong Tan was named a winner of the International Women of Courage Award by the State Department.

Ta Phong Tan was RELEASED to exile on September 19, 2015.
